This article seeks to analyze the extent to which neoliberal governmentality influences
international migration. To confirm the hypothesis that the alliance between neoliberal
governmentality and the capitalist mode of production and its expansion are two of the
main responsibles for mobilizing lives around the globe, Michel Foucault’s concept of
governmentality will be presented, which means the way to lead lives, its relationship with
neoliberalism and regarding neoliberal governmentality, by creating needs and lifestyles,
drives transnational mobilities. Secondly, the theories about migration are presented and a historical-structural posture is defended in the analysis of the phenomenon, using
the notes of Immanuel Wallerstein. Finally, it presents migratory scenarios, in which
neoliberal governmentality has not only mobilized lives, but also made them precarious
and vulnerable. The research is bibliographic and documentary.
