This paper studies the international abduction of children in light of cases of domestic violence perpetrated in the country of habitual residence, highlighting the role of psychological evaluation to guarantee the best interests of the child. The study concludes that the traditional application of the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction is not always beneficial for abducted children, especially in cases involving domestic or family violence.
