The study analyzes the transition from in-person to remote work at the Federal Public Defender's Office (DPU) in Santa Catarina during the Covid-19 pandemic, highlighting employees' perceptions. The research combined quantitative and qualitative approaches, with questionnaires that assessed aspects such as productivity, flexibility and quality of life. The main results indicate that the majority of respondents have a positive perception about remote work, valuing privacy and closeness to family. The factors considered positive were: Flexible working hours, saving time on commuting, improving quality of life and productivity. The most relevant negative factors were: Social isolation, communication difficulties, interruptions in the home environment and the need for discipline. WhatsApp was the most frequently used tool, followed by emails, phone and video conferences. Hybrid work was highlighted as the preferred modality by most interviewees. The study shows that remote work can be effective, highlighting the importance of managing time, responsibility and discipline. Despite geographic and methodological limitations, the results contribute to organizational improvement, quality of life and sustainability.
